I was the Home Loan Consultant from First Federal Bank of Kansas City that handled the purchase loan for a couple recently discharged from the Navy and relocating from South Carolina to Bemidji. Doug was very professional in the selling of my home. I was treated with respect and courtesy; he treated me as a partner in the process, answering all of my questions honestly and in terms I could understand.Doug’s marketing techniques were very effective. I contacted Doug because he was the listing agent on the property I was interested in. He contacted me almost immediately explainng the property and offering to show it. Through short negotions we purchased the property. He was very good at obtaining information about the property aftersale from the previous owner. I found him to be very efficient in every way. I had my house listed for 12 months a couple of years ago with little interest. I took it off the market, and then I heard about Doug through a friend. He was willing to walk through the house before signing any sort of agreement, and made sound recommendations for improvements to increase saleability. I followed most of his suggestions, and often relied on Doug to make arrangements with small contractors for me, as I live in another state, and he was very proactive in this.If I was unable to reach Doug by phone, he was very prompt in returning my calls and emails, and was very knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed working with him and, if I had to do it again, I would choose him the first time around! I had a reasonable offer and a positive experience with the selling process through Doug’s expertise, and, best of all, we no longer own the house! Thank you, Doug!

We were in the process of selling our house in a different part of the country while working with Doug & Melissa to buy our current house. They were able to make everything on the buying end happen – from setting up appointments to see potential houses around when we could travel over to look at them, all the way through getting everything set up for closing so that we could just drive in and sign the papers. No matter what weird problem came up they could handle it. We felt that their knowledge of the comparables in even the outlying area that we were looking in was excellent. It seemed like they were very up to speed with all the latest technology, allowing us to do things like actually signing the purchase agreement from the other side of the country. I purchased my home through the Hoovers about six years ago. I contacted Doug because he had been the realtor for my sister and brother in law through both buying and later selling their home, and they recommended him because of his layed back low stress style and his honesty. I met Melissa when we closed on my house six years ago and found her to be very much like Doug in the way she handles business, only more talkative and energetic. My house is back on the market now and I went with the Hoovers once again. Our house buying experience could not be going any smoother than it is right now. We wasted a lot of time last year looking at houses that were not within the price range that we gave to our realtor. I was very reluctant to get into house hunting again this year and wasn’t planning on starting the search until the summer months. My wife and I met with Doug to look at three houses. During the course of those three showings, we inquired about a house we looked at the prior year that was back on the market. We ended up adding a fourth house to our tour that night. Doug was very knowledgeable about the entire situation with the house being back up for sale and was equally impressive with what he knew about the repairs that had been made since the previous year. Three nights later, I met Doug back at the house and wrote an offer. Within about 14 hours, he contacted me with the counter and after going back to the seller one more time, we had agreed on the purchase price. The next day, Doug flew out-of-state on vacation, but our communication never slowed down and you would have never guessed he wasn’t in his office. We have been very blessed to be working with Doug as this process winds down and we can’t wait to move into our new home.
